How much experience does Landeros have?
Landeros, aka “El Terror,” is 30 years old and has a 20-13-1 record. He turned pro in 2000 and has kept himself busy all but two of the 10 years. In 2006 he fought just once. Then last year he fought only once, a losing effort to Alejandro Perez (14-2-1), a boxer he had beaten 11 months earlier. The combined record of the boxers Landeros has defeated? 126-119-7
How has Landeros faired lately?
Not well at all. In his last nine bouts, he’s won just twice. In his last three outings, he lost twice by TKO and once by knock out.
Has Landeros, who is from Mexico City, fought any other local boxers?
On Ocober 15, 2005, Landeros fought and beat Jorge Martinez (13-5-2) of Escondido.
What can we expect from Christopher Martin?
Martin, who at 5’6” tall, is almost the same exact weight and size as Landeros. After an extensive amateur career, he made his debut on July 21, 2006. The combined record of the boxers he has faced is 159-140-18.
In his last ten bouts, Martin won nine with a draw. He won his last three by TKO. Over the last three years, Martin has kept himself busy by fighting 14 times and this will be his second bout of the year.
Which are the local boxers that Martin has faced?
Martin fought Alejandro Cruz (3-11-2) from Escondido, Saul Santoyo (0-3) from San Diego, and Eduardo Arcos (15-1) from nearby Tijuana.
Since both Martin at 127 pounds and Landeros at 127 pounds failed to make the 122 pound cutoff weight to be considered super-bantamweights, they will be fighting in the super-featherweight classification (126 to 130 lbs.). With this development, it means Martin will not be defending his USA California State featherweight title.
