Borizteca Boxing’s press conference for the November 11th show: La Revolucion
Press Conference, Monday, November 7: the Borizteca Boxing Management Group was at the lovely eatery Elementos Restaurant Bar & Grill to announce their fight card for the upcoming show, La Revolucion, at the Salon Mezzanine on Friday, November 11.

You talk about your boxing aficionados, it’s near impossible to host a show in Tijuana without the help of these three gentlemen, Alex “Terra” Garcia, the head of officials from the Tijuana Boxing Commission, Fernando Paramo, award winning boxing commentator and finally but not least Jose Luis “Secre” Flores who handles all of the boxing gloves.
During Monday’s Press Conference, we see co-promoter Saul Rios with microphone in hand talking to the Media about the boxers on the upcoming fight card. Below is the fight card for the November 11th show at the Salon Mezzanine. 
Take note, there was a late add-on to make it 11 confirmed bouts. A light heavyweight match between Justin Woodard (0-0) of the Kings Gym in Sacramento, California was added. Woodard, who will be making his professional debut, is set to face the more experienced Juan Carlos Moreno from Tijuana.
Headliner of the night, Adam Fiel (9-0-1, 4 KOs)
After representing both the Philippines and the United States in the Olympic Trials, Adam Fiel and his team are once again leaving their home turf of Vacaville, Calif., and heading back out on the road. Fiel will be facing journeyman Edgar Daniel Ahumada of Tijuana, in a 10 rounder. This will be Fiel’s 6th fight in Mexico and the second this year after beating Alfredo Pitta at the same venue back on February 26th. After his battle with Pitta, Fiel fought to a technical draw on September 30, after an accidental head butt stopped his bout with Jesus Sandoval due to the cut on Sandoval’s face. After that fight, Fiel wanted to return to action immediately.
“That fight was at the USF War Memorial Gym in San Francisco, California. I was in total control of the fight and was getting close to scoring a knockout. It was unfortunate the fight was called on a cut that came from legal blows and not because of a clash of heads,” said Fiel. “As a fighter, all you can do is go on to the next match and since I have kept in great shape, I opted for fighting as soon as possible.” Fiel, who started his professional career being trained by Nonito Donaire Sr., is currently under the guidance of Mateen Saifudeen Adam (formerly known as Steve Hernandez). Donaire Sr. moved to Las Vegas to be with his son Nonito after he regained his WBO junior featherweight title, a title which he lost on Saturday night to Jessie Magdaleno.
“While we are comfortable fighting anywhere, fighting before a Mexican crowd has always been appealing to me. The crowds are like aggressive fighters. They help put on the show. Thus far I have been able to win the public over with my presentations. I believe the fight fans of Tijuana will once again welcome me as they did before.”
The eight round co-main event will feature two experienced super welterweights: 24-year-old Jorge “Pantera” Silva (21-12-2, 17 KOs) and 28-year-old Adriel Juzaino (22-13-3). Silva, who was born in Tijuana and made his debut at the tender age of 16, has faced some of the best in the sport to include Frankie Gomez (21-0), Joshua Clottey (39-5), Alan Sanchez (18-3-1), Pablo Cesar Cano (29-5-1), Alfredo Angulo (24-6), Luis Arias (16-0) and Yoshihiro Kamegai (27-3-2). Silva’s opponent, Adriel “Zurdito” Juzaino, from Huatabampo, Sonora, Mexico, has done likewise since starting his career at 17. Juzaino has faced Arturo Lopez Castro (21-0), Ricardo “Dinamita” Alvarez, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez’s brother, plus Gamaliel Diaz (39-15-3), the former WBC World Super Featherweight Champion.
They also have several undefeated California fighters making their return to the popular Tijuana venue. Edgar Valadez, a member of the Mando’s Boxing Gym, Spring Valley, Calif., currently (2-0), will be facing Ramon Madero from Camalu, Baja California. Chula Vista’s Elias Diaz (1-0), a fast and powerful welterweight returns to face Hugo Gutierrez from Tijuana. Roberto Meza, an exciting featherweight from Temecula, Calif., is hoping to improve on his (4-0) record when he faces Israel Pineda of Tijuana. Jorge Escalante (4-0-1) will be facing Jorge Alexis Guillen (0-2-1) from Mexicali in a light heavyweight contest and finally you have Ricardo Valdovinos from San Diego, (2-0), going up against Isaac Avalos (0-2) from Tijuana in a welterweight clash.
Three additional fighters will be making their pro debuts: Adrian Gutierrez from the Gutierrez Gym in San Diego, an experienced amateur with several National Titles and Olympic Qualifier participant, will go against Juan Sanchez (0-2) from Tijuana. Super welterweight Johnny “Azteca” Rosales, managed and trained by ex-world champ Israel “El Magnifico” Vazquez, will be making his debut against Edgar Ivan Garcia of San Luis Rio, Mexico.
Recently signed, Mario “Guero” Ramirez (1-1) from Camalu will be back. His opponent is Hasiel Cortez (0-1) of Tijuana.
This “Revolucion” fight card is part of the World Class Boxing Series, produced and distributed by PAP Sports. This event will be taped for a delayed broadcast in the United States, Baja California and Puerto Rico via the LATV Network. Tickets for this show will be available at the venue. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. with the first bout scheduled to begin at 8:15 p.m. Of course all fights are subject to change and Commission approval.
