Talk about an inexpensive, fun night out on the town. On Friday, June 16, the Borizteca Boxing Management Group returns to the Salon Mezzanine in Tijuana with their latest offering The New Generation of Boxers and featured on this show is the 2016 Olympian Joselito Velasquez who is already 2-0 with two knockouts. Tickets for the event are a bargain. They start at $150 pesos (in dollars $8.10) and go up to $350 pesos for a Ringside seat ($18.90 in dollars).
What makes the Borizteca Boxing shows so successful? It’s all about their presentation and how they adapt to the needs of the boxers on each fight card. Whether a boxer is a top prospect or someone in the developmental stages, they make it work. And as most professional organizations, Borizteca Boxing is not only a television content provider, they also do live streaming under the handle “Best In Boxing” which can be seen on YouTube. Plus, as venues go, the Salon Mezzanine is upscale which gives the boxers an even grander feeling. With their promotional ties all over North, Central and South America, Borizteca has grown into one of the world’s most prestigious promotional firms, representing many of the world’s up and comers.
Their secret? They take a personal interest in each and every boxer on their bout sheet. Whether it’s a boxer’s debut, a boxer moving up in weight, whatever the case, they counsel the competitors so that no one feels slighted. They make sure the combatants are aware of an opponent’s stance (orthodox or southpaw), they’re up front in regards to an opponent’s Amateur background. Any and all variables that might affect the outcome are made known.
Borizteca Boxing Promotions has earned the respect and recognition of their peers. Before landing on Cable Channel 26, their shows aired beginning in January, 2015, both in San Diego and Los Angeles via LATV on Channels 17, 46 and 57 and were carried by the majority of Cable TV Companies, Direct TV and DISH. LATV’s programming airs in 37 media markets which included 17 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. As a result, LATV had the possibility of reaching 42,255,000+ homes and garnered a 37% share of this unique mostly Latino market. In 2016, LATV Network aired 10 of Borizteca Boxing Promotions’ shows with one show per month on Friday night in Prime Time in the 7:30 p.m. (PST) time slot. At present they use Global Sports Streaming Live out of Las Vegas, Nevada which produces their shows on Best In Boxing. Best In Boxing is a series that gives the needed exposure to young fighters and it is broadcast on the global platform: YouTube. Since over 80% of professional boxing is not broadcast and this Best In Boxing is about giving a platform to fighters who otherwise wouldn’t have it, the addition of this career enhancement has made the Borizteca Boxing Management Group even more popular.
The Borizteca Boxing Promotions Fight Cards have featured many of the talented and up and coming male and female stars of tomorrow from both Mexico and the southwest of the United States to include heavyweight prospect Alexander “The Great” Flores, Roberto Meza, Angel “Diablito” Ramos, 17 year-old Xavier Martinez from Sacramento, Alexis “Pillo” Canett from Ensenada, Victor “El Pelon” Ruiz, Brian “Sweet” Jones, twin brothers Aaron & Abel Rueda plus Manuel Cebbalos from Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, Cristian “El Ruso” Olivas from Tijuana, the the Arellano brothers, Israel and Antonio from Chula Vista, Calif., plus top female fighters like Kenia Enriquez of Tijuana and Amaris “Diamond Girl” Quintana from San Diego. Their renown ring announcer, Pablo Flores, plus color commentators/interviewers Shary Sarmiento, Fernando Paramo and Marcelino Avila have added the ambiance of a show in Las Vegas.
