Late change for Friday, June 24th’s boxing show at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario reads: Reynoso and Almaraz step up into “Locked N’ Loaded” main event on June 24!”

With Efrain Esquivias sidelined due to a cut suffered in training, Thompson Boxing Promotions’ “Locked N’ Loaded” event on Friday will now feature Jose “El Nino” Reynoso’s junior welterweight showdown with Esteban Almaraz move into the main event slot at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario.

Reynoso (14-3-1, 2 KOs) from Riverside, CA by way of Mexicali, is a 26 year-old southpaw who stands 5’10” tall. Over the past six years he has lost just once to Dean Byrne (10-0) and had a draw against Aris Ambriz (13-0-1).

Junior welterweight Esteban Almaraz

Almaraz (10-3-0, 4 KOs) from Harlingen, Texas, is a 30 year-old righty who stands 5’8” tall. Over the last three years, Almarez has fought six times, winning three times and losing three times. The combined record of the guys who beat him was 28-1-1. The guys he beat had a combined record of 58-9-2.

In the Co-main event, scheduled for eight rounds in the featherweight division, Colombia’s Daulis Prescott (22-0, 17 KOs), the younger brother of Breidis Prescott, the only fighter with a win over current WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan, will make his Thompson Boxing debut against rugged veteran Juan Jose Beltran (20-24-2, 12 KOs).

Undercard action:

A six-round welterweight event features big punching Artemio “King” Reyes Jr. (11-1, 10 KOs) against Louisiana’s Chris Gray (13-15, 1 KO). Reyes, a lean fighting machine, has earned all but one of his victories by knockout, and Thompson Boxing Promotions is looking to move him up to bigger fights in the near future.

Rounding out the card will be a four round junior flyweight bout pitting Riverside’s Sindy Amador (3-0, 1 KO) against Laredo’s Cristina Fuentes (1-0-2), a lightweight duel between debuting Santiago Guevara and Jesus Juarez (0-1), and a welterweight match between another debutant, Roberto Crespo, and Laredo’s John Montes (1-0, 1 KO).
