It has gotten to the point where you can’t even mention the Female World Middleweight or Super Middle Crowns without first mentioning the Pride of Flint, Michigan and the US, the 26-year-old Claressa “T-Rex” Shields who has held either one or both of these Middleweight/Super Middleweight Crowns ever since she fought Nikki Adler back on August of 2017, that’s well over four years ago. Then, on March 5, 2021, Shields again dominated a well respected challenger by the name of Marie Eve Dicaire. And then with there being no challengers to speak of, the industrious Ms. Shields went ahead with two MMA fights which had to be quite a departure. Then, in November, another offer came to have Shields fight this 22-year-old, lefty by the name of Ema Kozin (21-0-1), from Ljubljana, Slovenia. Shields was to fight Kozin in the co-feature to take place in Cardiff, Wales with the top Male middleweight Chris Eubank Jr. facing Liam Williams on December 11, 2021. Now, with the news coming this week that Liam Williams suffered a shoulder injury, the ladies’ co-feature also had to be rescheduled. The new date for this show is January 29, 2022. That means there’s been a two month shelving of the event. Now you know why Professional Fighters always need to have some money stashed away. It is often feast or famine if your involved in the fighting sports.
