Pala Casino scheduled to host “Champion of Champions” four Muay Thai World Title fights

What was projected to be the most anticipated title fight in women’s Muay Thai history has gone through metamorphosis to become one of the most exciting conglomerations of women’s world title fights ever.
In the Main Event they have the long awaited match between the top female kickboxers in the sport, Miriam Nakamoto of the United States and Julie Kitchen of Great Britain. The event is scheduled for August 18, 2012 at the Pala Casino & Resort in Pala, CA. Kitchen’s WCK title will be on the line.Kitchen, who hales from Cornwall, United Kingdom, is the world’s number one ranked ladies Muay Thai champion. In addition to being a 14 time World champion, she’s a trainer, ambassador for the sport and mother of twin daughters Amber and Allaya. After earning 23 Championship belts, Kitchen’s fight record is 47 wins, 8 loses and 1 no contest.
Nakamoto, who trains at the Combat Sports Academy, Dublin, CA, is known for her boxing skills and heavy kicks. She knocked out her last three opponents. Kitchen, on the other hand, is proficient in clinch work, will use her strong knee kicks, and often keeps her distance with the notorious push kicks.

On May 13, the WCK announced they had added three additional female bouts to the card which include another three title fights. At this point they have the WBC World Champion Tiana Caverly of Australia defending her title against Jemyma Betrian of The Netherlands. Then it’s San Diego’s own Tiffany Van Soest going for a World Title against Scotland’s Hilary Mack followed by MMA veteran 25 year-old, 5’ 6” Lena Ovchynnikova (8-2 in MMA) from Lviv, Lviv, Ukraine, a super bantamweight taking on 5’3” Emily Bearden (20-8, 1 KO) a two-time WKA Muay Thai Bantamweight World Champ, WKA U. S. Muay Thai Champion, Silver Medal (Muay Thai) and Bronze Medal (Kickboxing) at the 2006 WKA World Championships. She hales from Five Points Fitness a gym on Canal Street in New York City where she works as a trainer.
Since this will be Ovchynnikova’s second Muay Thai fight, we’re still checking to see how she did on May 6, 2012 in Delhi, India where she was scheduled to fight in this Super Fight League III show against Joan Kaldervud of Scotland.
